Oral Presentation Instructions

Timing

Oral presentations are allocated 20 minutes in total:

  • 15 minutes presentation
  • – Up to 5 minutes for questions and discussion

Session chairs will strictly enforce timings to ensure the conference programme runs to schedule.

Format

  • – Presentations should be prepared in PowerPoint (.pptx) or PDF format.

Presenters using Apple Keynote are encouraged to export their presentation as a PowerPoint or PDF file in advance to ensure compatibility.

Submission

  • Laptops: an HDMI connection will be available.
  • – MacBooks: please check that you have an HDMI connection or bring an adaptor.

To submit your presentation in advance, please email it to synhisel@bath.ac.uk by Thursday 3 September. Please use the subject heading: “Last name | First name | SustainMemPro Presentation”

Please arrive at your session room at least 15 mins before the session begins to test the connection and AV setup.

Prize

ECR Oral presentations will be eligible for the Oral Presentation Prize (£100 voucher + certificate).

Poster Presentation Instructions

Format

  • – Posters should be prepared in A0 portrait format (841 mm × 1189 mm).
  • – Posters may be printed on paper or fabric.

Display

  • – Poster boards and fixing materials will be provided.
  • – Your poster number will be your submission ID.
  • – Board allocations will be based on poster numbers.

Mounting and Removal

  • – Posters should be mounted between 08:30 and 09:30 on Monday 7 September.
  • – Posters will remain on display throughout the conference.
  • – Please be available to discuss your work during the designated poster sessions.

Prize

ECR Posters will be eligible for the Poster Presentation Prize (£75 voucher + certificate).

Sustainability

Authors are encouraged to consider environmentally responsible printing options where available.

Wi-Fi

Eduroam

eduroam is a free, global Wi-Fi service for students and university staff. If you are visiting from another university which uses eduroam, you can connect to the service here using your own university login details. To connect to eduroam, you need:

  1. Your university email address, like abc123@bath.ac.uk
  2. Your university password.

Connect to eduroam

To connect to eduroam whilst on campus (including other University buildings):

  • – If your device has internet connection (such as a 4G mobile phone) you can use the configuration tool
  • – If your device does not have an internet connection (whilst on campus), you can connect to the ‘Setup Assistant’ wireless network in the Wi-Fi settings of your device

Before you arrive

If you want to set up your device to use eduroam ahead of time:

You will need to be connected to the internet already to use the configuration tool.

After using the configuration tool, your device should connect to eduroam automatically when you arrive on campus (including other University buildings) or at an affiliated organisation.

Connecting to Wi-Fi as a Visitor (for those who can’t use eduroam)

You will need to register to use ‘WiFi Guest’. You do not need a University email address to connect.

Connect to Wi-Fi Guest

  1. Open the Wi-Fi settings on your device
  2. Select ‘WiFi Guest’ from the list
  3. Once you are connected, open your web browser and refresh the page. Your browser may open automatically
  4. Select your authentication method to continue
