The control of interfacial properties of membranes (e.g. surface structure, chemistry and energy) could enhance the selectivity of the membrane. In SynHiSel we will develop different approaches to control these properties by fabricating ultra-thin selective layer, incorporating 2D materials within the structure of the membrane and modifications on the surface of the membranes to provide faster routes for the transport of the different species we want to separate.
