Liquid-Liquid Displacement Porosimeter

Name: Liquid-Liquid Displacement Porosimeter

Summary: Liquid-liquid displacement porosimetry (LLP) detects pore size and pore size distribution from ultrafiltration and microfiltration membrane surfaces. The instrument uses the principle of Young-Laplace equation that describes the capillary pressure difference sustained across the interface between two fluids. By applying liquid pairs with known interfacial tension, acting like wetting liquid and pushing liquid, the instrument gains a wide detect range of pores size between 5 nm to 100 nm. The principle of LLP could also be employed on characterising liquid entry pressure of hydrophobic membrane materials.
